Accountant - fixed assets (Fresno, CA)

Ironwood North Construction is a Fresno contractor with project managers, trades and support staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to project schedules, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Fresno. • We reply to every applicant.
