Accountant - fixed assets (Fresno, CA)

We are growing our team at Lumen Maple Early Learning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 38 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around meal programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with tuition and subsidies. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
