Accountant - fixed assets (Fresno, CA)

Stonegate Union Banking Services is a community-focused bank in Fresno serving households and small businesses, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Fresno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
