Accountant - fixed assets (Fresno, CA)

Fernwood Bright Markets is a Fresno retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 140 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to promotions, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with promotions. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Fresno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
