Accountant - fixed assets (El Paso, TX)

Stonegate Kestrel Construction delivers building projects for owners across the El Paso region, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 655 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Track costs around materials orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to project schedules, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with project schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in El Paso. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
