Accountant - fixed assets (El Paso, TX)

We are growing our team at Highbridge Fern Banking Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with account openings. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in El Paso. • We reply to every applicant.
