Accountant - fixed assets (Detroit, MI)

Foxglove Rowan Inspection Services is an inspection company in Detroit with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scheduling, and clear open items. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with scheduling. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Detroit. • We reply to every applicant.
