Accountant - fixed assets (Detroit, MI)

Foxglove Basin Legal Group is a law firm in Detroit serving businesses and individuals. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 845 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to court deadlines, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around document review against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with court deadlines. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
