Accountant - fixed assets (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak Drift Farms and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grower contracts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with grower contracts. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Detroit. • We reply to every applicant.
