Accountant - fixed assets (Des Moines, IA)

Lumen Meridian Facilities is a facilities company in Des Moines with crews on day and night shifts, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supply orders, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around contractor visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with supply orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
