Accountant - fixed assets (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Lumen Loom Medical Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 89 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around production lots against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to device records, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with device records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
