Accountant - fixed assets (Des Moines, IA)

Bluepeak Hollow Energy Group supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Des Moines, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 27 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around billing disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Des Moines. • We reply to every applicant.
