Accountant - fixed assets (Des Moines, IA)

Redstone Willow Medical builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Des Moines. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 29 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around regulatory submissions against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with training materials. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Des Moines. • We reply to every applicant.
