Accountant - fixed assets (Denver, CO)

Nova West Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Denver, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with recycling loads. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Denver. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
