Accountant - fixed assets (Dallas, TX)

Northwind Meridian Foods Group makes sauces, snacks and prepared meals in Dallas. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around allergen controls against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer specifications. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Dallas. • We reply to every applicant.
