Accountant - fixed assets (Dallas, TX)

Foxglove Willow Insurance is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 79 people based in Dallas. What you will do • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Dallas. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
