Accountant - fixed assets (Columbus, OH)

Amberfield Vale Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Columbus plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 40 people based in Columbus. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to machine downtime, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Columbus, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
