Accountant - fixed assets (Colorado Springs, CO)

Westbrook Amber Construction is a Colorado Springs contractor with project managers, trades and support staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to materials orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with materials orders. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Colorado Springs. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
