Accountant - fixed assets (Colorado Springs, CO)

Bright Kestrel Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Colorado Springs, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Track costs around student accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with learning materials. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Colorado Springs. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
