Accountant - fixed assets (Colorado Springs, CO)

Cedar Mill Foods is a Colorado Springs food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with production batches. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Colorado Springs. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
