Accountant - fixed assets (Cleveland, OH)

We are growing our team at Bright Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to policy renewals, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with policy renewals. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Cleveland. • We reply to every applicant.
