Accountant - fixed assets (Cincinnati, OH)

Greenridge Ashton Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for recycling loads, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 911 people based in Cincinnati. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with recycling loads. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
