Accountant - fixed assets (Cincinnati, OH)

Rivermark Ashton Farms is an agricultural business based around Cincinnati, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 45 people based in Cincinnati. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Track costs around field records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with seasonal crews. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Cincinnati, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
