Accountant - fixed assets (Cincinnati, OH)

Ironwood Cedar Foods Group produces packaged foods at its Cincinnati plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 490 people based in Cincinnati. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with ingredient orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Cincinnati. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
