Accountant - fixed assets (Chicago, IL)

We are growing our team at Northwind Fern Care Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. The work is personal and so is the culture. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with licensing. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Chicago. • We reply to every applicant.
