Accountant - fixed assets (Chicago, IL)

We are growing our team at Stonegate West Care Services Partners and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around caregiver training against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
