Accountant - fixed assets (Charlotte, NC)

Highbridge Field Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for treatment plant data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 23 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with treatment plant data. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Charlotte. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
