Accountant - fixed assets (Charlotte, NC)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Forge Transit Planning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around ridership counts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with route schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Charlotte. • We reply to every applicant.
