Accountant - fixed assets (Charlotte, NC)

Amberfield Meadow Housing Associates is a nonprofit housing provider in Charlotte, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to repair requests, and clear open items. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with repair requests. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
