Accountant - fixed assets (Charlotte, NC)

Silverline Sparrow Arts Center Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for volunteer programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 707 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around event logistics against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer programmes, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with volunteer programmes.
