Accountant - fixed assets (Charleston, SC)

Highbridge Haven Early Learning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for classroom supplies, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. • Track costs around meal programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with classroom supplies. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Charleston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
