Accountant - fixed assets (Charleston, SC)

Lumen Cedar Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Charleston region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with seasonal crews. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Charleston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
