Accountant - fixed assets (Charleston, SC)

Rivermark Field Markets serves neighbourhoods around Charleston with fresh food and everyday goods, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 432 people based in Charleston. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with shrink and waste. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charleston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
