Accountant - fixed assets (Charleston, SC)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Quill Energy and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 32 people based in Charleston. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service connections, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with service connections. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Charleston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
