Accountant - fixed assets (Charleston, SC)

Nova Willow Construction delivers building projects for owners across the Charleston region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with subcontractor invoices. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Charleston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
