Accountant - fixed assets (Buffalo, NY)

Lumen Maple Manufacturing Group manufactures parts and assemblies at its Buffalo plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around machine downtime against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer orders. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Buffalo. • We reply to every applicant.
