Accountant - fixed assets (Buffalo, NY)

Stonegate Lantern Construction is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for safety records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Track costs around project schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with safety records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Buffalo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
