Accountant - fixed assets (Buffalo, NY)

Rivermark Hollow Environmental Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for weigh tickets, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Safety briefings happen every morning. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to weigh tickets, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with weigh tickets.
