Accountant - fixed assets (Buffalo, NY)

Foxglove West Energy Partners delivers power and gas plans across the Buffalo region, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Safety comes first on every shift. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with hardship programmes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Buffalo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
