Accountant - fixed assets (Boston, MA)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Loom Property Management and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Residents are neighbours, not numbers. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to unit turnovers, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Boston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
