Accountant - fixed assets (Baltimore, MD)

Greenridge Glen Banking Services is a regional lender in Baltimore with branches and a growing mobile service, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 76 people based in Baltimore. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. • Track costs around deposit accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with account openings. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
