Accountant - fixed assets (Baltimore, MD)

Clearpath Junction Press produces print and digital publications in Baltimore. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Baltimore. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to print quotes, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with print quotes. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Baltimore. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
