Accountant - fixed assets (Baltimore, MD)

Summit Birch Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Baltimore. We are hiring an Accountant to take on fixed assets. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scheduling, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with scheduling. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Baltimore. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
