Accountant - fixed assets (Atlanta, GA)

Stonegate Harbor Farms is an agricultural business based around Atlanta, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with seasonal crews.
