Accountant - fixed assets (Anchorage, AK)

Harborlight Drift Inspection Services Group tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Anchorage, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
