Accountant - fixed assets (Anchorage, AK)

Rivermark Birch Legal Group provides legal services in Anchorage across employment, housing and small-business law, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Confidentiality and accuracy are taken very seriously. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around client files against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with court deadlines. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Anchorage. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
