Accountant - fixed assets (Anchorage, AK)

Northwind Forge Arts Center is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for school partnerships, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 17 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with school partnerships. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Anchorage. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
