Accountant - fixed assets (Anchorage, AK)

Bright Cobalt Construction delivers building projects for owners across the Anchorage region, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around project schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with subcontractor invoices. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Anchorage. • We reply to every applicant.
