Accountant - fixed assets (Anchorage, AK)

Rivermark Bridge Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Anchorage area, and we need an Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Anchorage, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
