Accountant - fixed assets (Anchorage, AK)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Bridge Foods Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with ingredient orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Anchorage, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
